A slight chance of rain and snow is predicted into tonight, but sunshine is expected as the weekend approaches.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 38 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and partly cloudy skies were reported.

A chance of rain and snow showers is possible before noon today, followed by a chance of rain between noon and 2 p.m. and a chance of rain and snow after 2 p.m. A 30 percent chance of precipitation is predicted, and little or no snow accumulation is expected. Today’s high will be near 39.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected tonight, along with a slight chance of snow showers before 11 p.m. The low will be around 25.

Thursday will once again bring mostly cloudy skies, with a high near 31. Those mostly cloudy skies will follow into Thursday night, with a low around 21.

Mostly sunny skies will wrap up the week on Friday, with a high near 36. Partly cloudy skies will follow into Friday night, with a low around 23.
