A mixture of sunshine and a chance for some rain will linger in the Wyoming Valley through the weekend.
The National Weather Service indicated it was 52 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and fog and mist were reported.
Mostly cloudy skies are expected today, along with a 40 percent chance of showers. Less than a tenth of an inch of rainfall is expected, and today’s high will be near 72.
A chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected early tonight, and showers and a possible thunderstorm are likely after 11 p.m. Some storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Up to a quarter of an inch of rain could fall, and higher amounts could fall in thunderstorms. Tonight’s low will be around 56.
Showers will continue to be likely, along with a possible thunderstorms, before 10 a.m. on Friday. There will then be a slight chance of showers for the remainder of the day, and cloudy skies will gradually clear. Up to a quarter of an inch of total rainfall is expected, and the high will be near 71.
Partly cloudy skies are predicted for Friday night, with a low around 44.
Saturday will bring partly sunny skies, and a high near 58.
Mostly cloudy skies will follow into Saturday night, along with a 30 percent chance of showers after 2 a.m. The low will be around 43.
Cloudy skies will round out the weekend Sunday, along with a 50 percent chance of showers. The high will be near 56.
Mostly cloudy skies will carry over into Sunday night, with a low around 42.
