Sunshine is expected to stick around as the weekend approaches, but so will a slight chance of rain and thunderstorms.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 69 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and fog was reported.

A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms is possible after 1 p.m. today. Otherwise, mostly sunny skies are expected, and the high will be near 90.

Partly cloudy skies are predicted for tonight, along with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m. The low will be around 67.

Patchy fog will start out the day on Thursday — otherwise, mostly sunny skies are reported. The high will be near 88.

Thursday night will bring mostly cloudy skies, along with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Up to a quarter of an inch of total rainfall is possible, and the low will be around 70.

Sunny skies will wrap up the week on Friday, along with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. The high will be near 84.

Partly cloudy skies will follow into Friday night, along with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. The low will be around 66.
