American Legion baseball registration

PITTSTON — Anyone who lives in Druyea, Exeter, Exeter Township, Hughestown, Pittston City, West Pittson, West Wyoming, Wyoming and Pittston Township (west of the Pittston Bypass) interested in playing for the Greater Pittston American Legion baseball team may sign up from 9 to 10 a.m. Sunday, May 13 at the Italian American Citizens Club, Oak Street.

Queen of Apostles Golf Tournament is May 6

TAYLOR — The 11th Annual St. Mary’s Classic Golf Tournament will be held at 8 a.m. Sunday, May 6 at Pine Hills Country Club, 140 S. Keyser Ave. This year’s tournament will be played in memory of Thomas Quinnan.

Cost is $85 per player which includes golf and dinner. The dinner will be held in the Queen of the Apostles Parish Hall, 742 Spring St., Avoca, immediately following the tournament.

Little League meeting May 13

AVOCA — The next monthly meeting for the Avoca/Dupont Little League will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 13 at the Avoca Borough building, 950 Main St.

Among items to be discussed at this meeting will be the spring season, as well as the regular league business.

All coaches are to attend the meeting.

Miles for Michael is Aug. 18

PITTSTON — The Miles for Michael/ Tomato Festival 5K and Fun Walk will be held at Saturday, Aug. 18 with a 10 a.m. start from the Greater Pittston YMCA, Main Street.
