The 2017 fund drive for the Dupont Volunteer Hose Company No. 1 is currently underway.
Economic hardships continue to affect many of the residents we serve, as well as our department. Our department relies primarily upon donations from residents and businesses in our community in order to provide the best possible level of fire protection to our community. As a fire department and non-profit organization, we continue to battle rising costs of utilities and other operating expenses. Through your donations, our all-volunteer department will continue to utilize your donations to function in the most efficient manner possible.
As you may be aware, we recently purchased a new fire engine to replace our aging 1984 engine. Therefore, your donation this year will truly be appreciated.
As always, we do not ask for any specific donation. We are grateful for any and all donations you may be able to make to the department. For those who have donated in the past, we truly appreciate your generosity and confidence in our department and encourage you to continue to support us. For those who have not made a donation in the past, we kindly ask you to re-consider supporting us. For example, a $30 donation equals approximately eight cents per day for the peace of mind that properly trained and equipped firefighters will be there for you, should an emergency occur.
Beyond answering more than 100 emergency calls in the past year, our dedicated firefighters have invested hundreds of hours of their time with training, fire prevention, and community public safety awareness programs.
Beyond your financial support, our most valuable asset has always been the dedicated members who serve the department. If you think you may be interested in becoming a part of our organization, feel free to stop by the station, or call 570-654-5121 or 570-654-4222 for more information. We will accept applications for both firefighting and non-firefighting members.
Once again, thank you for your donation and assistance in making this year’s fund drive a success.
