After being a big part of Berwick’s 2014 D2-3A title team, Hummel continued her strong play as a senior. She hit .309 with 20 RBI. Added six doubles, a triple and a home run. Scored 19 runs and reached base nine times by getting hit by pitches.

In the circle, the three-time All-WVC selection and coaches’ Division 1 MVP was 15-6 with a 1.89 ERA in 148 innings. Also recorded 73 strikeouts. At the plate, hit .402 with 15 RBI. Had three doubles, four triples and a home run. Struck out once.

Playing softball for the first time since eighth grade, the soccer standout led Dallas with a .517 batting average. Also paced the team with 31 hits, seven doubles and three stolen bases. Finished second on the team with nine RBI. Struck out once.

1B – Sophomore

Led the Cougars in RBI (26), doubles (8) and home runs (2), and tied with her sister as the top hitter with a .452 average. Also had three triples and scored 14 runs while providing strong defense.

2B – Senior

Three-time All-WVC selection hit .452 to tie her sister for the team lead. Was second in runs scored with 21 and fourth with 15 RBI. Had four doubles, a home run and three stolen bases. Hit .483 over her last three seasons.

OF – Senior

Two-time All-WVC selection who was named Division 1 Outstanding Player by the coaches. Batted .434, third best on the team, and was second with 17 RBI and six doubles. Also had three triples and a homer while providing strong defense.

P/SS – Sophomore

Became the main pitcher and finished 13-1 with a 1.59 ERA and 131 strikeouts in 92.1 innings. Also excelled at shortstop and at the plate where she hit .366 with 13 RBI, nine doubles and 20 runs scored. Also recorded 10 stolen bases.

Led the team in batting with a .512 average, doubles with 13, runs with 32 and stolen bases with 18. Also had 14 RBI and a triple. Was the winning pitcher in the 2A state title game and finished with a 9-0 record, 0.38 ERA and 90 strikeouts.

INF – Senior

Three-time All-WVC selection who moved from pitching to corner infield positions. Power hitter who led the team with three homers and 27 RBI. Finished second with a .451 average, second with 10 doubles and tied for first with two triples.

P/OF – Sophomore

Two-time All-WVC selection who continued her strong showing in the circle with a 13-5 record, 1.33 ERA and 101 strikeouts in 121 innings. Walked just two batters. Contributed on offense with a .262 average and seven RBI. Had two triples.

Nanticoke

P/DP – Freshman

Turned in a strong first season at the plate, hitting .310 with 17 RBI, second most on the team. Led the team with three triples and had seven doubles and two RBI. Was an effective left-handed reliever with a 1.75 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 28 innings.

Bree Bednarski

Wyoming Area

OF – Junior

Speedster who paced the team with 16 stolen bases while finishing second in doubles with six and tied for second with triples with three. Hit .456, second best among the regulars, and added 11 RBI and a home run.

Gwen Glatz

Wyoming Area

P – Freshman

Finished 15-5 with a 1.26 ERA and 126 strikeouts in 141 innings. Also a force at the plate, leading the team with five homers and 26 RBI. Tied for second with three triples. Added four doubles and hit .323.

Emily Wolfgang

Wyoming Area

SS – Senior

Two-time All-WVC pick who led the team with seven doubles and five triples. Was second in hitting with a .452 average, RBI with 25, home runs with three and stolen bases with 15. One of the WVC’s best middle infielders throughout her career.
