2005 Exeter advanced to the final four of the District 16 Major Baseball championship with wins over Northwest, Kingston and North Wilkes-Barre. PJ Bone hit two home runs in Exeter’s 9-6, 7-inning, come-from-behind win over Northwest. Against Kingston, Stan Timinski struck out 10 in a three-hitter to give Exeter a 7-1 win. Bone earned the win on the mound in a 9-6 decision over North Wilkes-Barre. David Dorbad homered for Exeter against North Wilkes-Barre. 1995 Wyoming/West Wyoming eliminated Pittston from the District 16 Major Baseball tournament with a 10-3 win. West Wyoming’s John Spitale had a home run, double and single, while John Appel and Steve Selenski had two hits. Brandon Carey and Mike Pryzbyla also had singles. Ed Layshon had a double and single for Pittston, while Tony Morreale had two singles. 1985 Former Sunday Dispatch editor John Watson and partner Paul Fruehan came from two strokes back to win the 54th John Allan Tournament at Fox Hill Country Club. In the 54-hole championship, Watson and Fruehan were red hot on the front nine of the final 18 holes. The duo birdied 2, 6 and 9, while avoiding bogies for a pace-setting 32. 1975 The Pittston Little League All-Star team was announced. Members of the team included John Bellino, Joe Aruscavage, Chris Degilio, Frank Ardoline, Danny O’Fier, Randy Jones, Chris Glasgow, Jack Goldowski, Dom Morreale, Mike Sobeski, Pete Brezek, Tom Nowakowski, Joe O’Boyle, Pete Parente and Tom Tracy.
