Pittston Area’s Marley O’Brien had a match-high 20 kills and added 31 digs and three aces in the Patriots’ 25-19, 25-16, 18-25, 25-9 victory on Wednesday.

With the win, Pittston Area improves to 5-3 with two wins on the week.

Anna McDermott had 13 kills and 41 digs while Kirsten Durling finished with 41 assists and Megan Gerrity had 25 service points.

Rachael Solano provided 23 assists, 13 service points and five kills, Jess Sorick had 17 kills and Mikayla Klimas added another five kills as Wyoming Area swept Dallas 25-18, 25-17 and 25-15 on Thursday.

Kathryn Robers had three blocks, two kills and two digs and Emilee Zawatski added seven digs and seven service points to help lead Dallas.

Hazleton Area 0

Wyoming Area defeated Hazleton Area 25-18, 25-15 and 25-9. Jess Sorick contributed 13 kills, three blocks and two aces while Rachel Solano added 16 assists and 12 service points for the Warriors on Monday.

For Hazleton Area: Rosie Tineo had eight digs and five kills while Lauren Merrick tallied five kills and one block.

Maddy Mimnaugh netted four goals and tallied two assists while Grace Mimnaugh ended the game with three of her own goals as Pittston Area shut out Hazleton Area on Monday.

Pittston out shot the Cougars 25-2 and Patriot goalie Taryn Ashby made two saves during the contest.

Wyoming Area 7

GAR 0

After scoring two goals in the first half, Wyoming Area poured in five goals in the second half to top GAR on Tuesday.

Alee Petit and Erica Gallagher each had two goals. Edan Stella and Daniella Vigueras scored the other two for Wyoming Area. GAR contributed an own goal for the seventh tally.

Caitlin Butchko’s shutout came on three saves.

Tunkhannock 1

Grace and Maddy Mimnaugh combined for three goals and three assists in Pittston Area’s win over Tunkhannock on Wednesday.

Sam Mayers and Brooklyn Pedana each scored a goal for the Patriots, as well.

Crestwood 3

Pittston Area 2

Bree Fetterman, Melissa Herrera and Bella Termini each scored a goal as Crestwood narrowly defeated Pittston Area. McKenna Mera, the Comets goalie, had to turn away 10 shots during the contest on Thursday.

For Pittston: Grace Mimnaugh scored with 1:30 left in the second half followed by Kayleigh Walker with just eight seconds left in the game.

Dallas 3

Wyoming Area 0

Ruby Mattson, Megan Miller and Rachel Miniskas all tallied goals as Dallas shut out Wyoming Area. Tiffany Zukosky had two assists and Katie Snedeker recorded a single helper on Thursday.

Dallas out shot the Warriors 15-1 and goalie Rachel Nelligan made a single save during the game.

Wyoming Area 5

Wyoming Valley West 0

Kierstin Grillo, Anna Thomas and Lauren Perry picked up wins in singles play and both doubles teams secured wins as Wyoming Area swept Wyoming Valley West on Thursday.

Wyoming Seminary 4

Pittston Area 1

The doubles team of Megha Sarada and Emily Laurore picked up a win and all three singles players won for the Blue Knights on Wednesday.

The doubles team of Madison Stanton and Breanna Yachus scored the lone victory of the night for the Patriots.

Pittston Area 4

GAR 1

Sara Swartz and Mackenzie Connors each won their singles matches and the doubles teams of Taryn Whitman, Emi Patel and Madison Stanton, Breanna Yachkus also recorded wins to help Pittston Area secure a win on Monday.

Josmarlyn Rivas picked up the only win of the night for GAR.

Wyoming Area 6

Dallas 1

Wyoming Area’s Bree Bednarski scored four goals to lead the Warriors to a 6-1 win over Dallas on Wednesday.

Bednarski scored three goals in the second half. Also adding goals for the Warriors were Emilie Wanko and Hayley Johnson. Katie Wolfgang had 10 saves.

Pittston Area 3

Honesdale 2

Paige Danko scored the game-winner on a penalty stroke and the Patriots prevailed on Tuesday.

Also scoring for Pittston Area were Ali Dunn and Alana Platukus.

Wyoming Area 5

Northwest 2

Jillian Spak scored a pair of first-half goals to lead Wyoming Area to a win over Northwest on Monday.

Bree Bednarski contributed two goals in the second half, while Emilie Wanko also scored for the Warriors. In the cage, Wyoming Area’s Katie Wolfgang stopped eight Northwest shots.
