Boys soccer: Seasons come to an end for Wyoming Area, Pittston Area

Both Pittston Area and Wyoming Area boys soccer teams were eliminated from the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association District 2 championships with losses this past week.

On Thursday, Pittston Area fell victim to top-seeded Williamsport, 5-0 in the Class AAA quarterfinals, to end the Patriots’ season. The Millionaires came into the game unbeaten. Five different players scored for Williamsport with Kolachi Pombor, Terrance Massey-Porter, Terrance Hillman, Dylan Confair and Tom Pombor all striking the net.

Wyoming Area’s season came to an end on Monday with a loss to Crestwood.

The Comets got two goals apiece from RJ Kresge and Dylan Perrone, while Curtis Tokash and Kyle Gegaris scored one apiece in the shutout. Comets goalie Lance Lysiak made three saves to get the shutout and Crestwood held a 25-6 advantage in shots.

Wyoming Area’s David Klaproth made 10 saves in the loss.
