It was a successful week for the Greater Pittston swimming teams.

Pittston Area girls, behind a solid showing in the relay events, was able to take down Berwick, 108-74 on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Wyoming Area boys proved to be too much for Hanover Area in an 85-80 win.

The Patriots were without any individual double winners, but a team effort led to the win. Katrina Dillon (200 free), Arianna Boccardi (200 IM), Erin Senese (100 fly) and Adison Hazlet (100 breast) each turned in wins. Pittston Area’s Madi Osticco was the winner of the diving event.

Pittston Area took two of the three relay events. The Patriots won the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay.

Wyoming Area’s Ryan Murphy won the 200 free (2:03.97) and the 100 fly (59.68), while Michael Murphy took first in the 200 IM (2:18.84) and 100 breast (1:11.49) as the Warriors took the win.

The Warriors also finished first in two of three relay events. Joe Earl won the diving event. Wyoming Area’s meet with Lake-Lehman, originally scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 13, was rescheduled for Monday, Jan. 25 at Wyoming Area.

The two teams will be in action on Thursday, Jan. 21 when they face off against each other at Wyoming Area.
