The Pittston Area and Wyoming Area swimming teams each had successful weeks in the pool. Here’s how the two teams fared throughout the past week:
Pittston Area 126, Coughlin 48
Katrina Dillon took first in the 50 freestyle and 500 freestyle for the Patriots while also helping her team win the 400 freestyle relay on Tuesday.
Wyoming Seminary 101, Wyoming Area 71
Madison Federici won the 100 fly and 100 breast to lead the Blue Knights, who won 11 of the 12 events.
Wyoming Area’s lone win came in the dive by Breanna Cannell on Tuesday.
Pittston Area 124, Nanticoke 48
Against Nanticoke on Friday, Jan. 29, the Pittston Area girls swim team got three wins each from Erin Senese and Katrina Dillon to earn the win.
Erica Colon won the 200 IM, while Tara Johnson won the 50 free relay and Addison Hazlet was a winner in the 100 backstroke. The Patriots also swept the three relays.
Wyoming Area 99, Coughlin 72
Wyoming Area’s Katy Dymond posted wins in the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle to help the Warriors edge Coughlin on Friday, Jan. 29.
The Warriors also won the 400 relay event. The team is made up of Hannah Hinkle, Cassie Lockhart, Sydni Johnson and Vicky Remley.
Wyoming Seminary 95, Wyoming Area 75
The Warriors won two out of the three relay races, but it wasn’t enough since the Blue Knights claimed victory in seven total races on Tuesday.
Joe Earl was a winner in the diving event, while Michael Murphy won the 100 breaststroke and Austin Alder was a winner in the 50 freestyle. The team of Ryan Murphy, Michael Murphy, Zach Lagrue and Austin Alder won the 200 and 400 free relays.
