The Pittston Area junior Little League team scored 12 runs in the first inning, and followed it up with five in the second and six in the third, in a 23-0 win over Mountain Top on Sunday, May 22.

Pittston Area belted out 17 hits. Tyler Granahan led the way with a 4-for-5 day and three RBI. He also scored four runs. Collecting two hits for the locals were Andrew Krawczk, Michael Nocito, Matt Rinaldi, Matthew Cardinale and Gino Mariggi. Cardinale and Mariggi each had four RBI.

Granahan got the win, allowing three hits.

Matt Rinaldi collected two hits and drove in two runs in Pittston Area’s win. Tyler Granahan also had two hits. Gino Mariggi contributed two RBI.

Pittston City exploded for 16 hits in beating Pittston Township (2), 13-1. Eric Pisack led the charge going four for four with four RBI and three runs scored. Devin Markert launched a three-run home run in the fourth inning to contribute to the cause. Jack Locker also went three for three with two doubles and four RBI. Nikki Dennis went two for three with two RBI and two runs scored, Tyler Cegelka also added two hits and scored two runs. Cole Ferranti got the win on the mound with two strikeouts.

A. Cencetti had two hits, A. Ranelli and D. Delucca each added a hit in the loss for Pittston Twp. (2).

West Pittston Moose 12

Wyoming/West Wyoming 0

JJ Hook had two home runs and a double, while Evan Melberger was 3-for-4 in the Moose win.

Melberger picked up the win on the mound with 11 strikeouts. Cody Meade had two hits for the Moose.

Pittston Township (1) 7

Exeter Cardinals 3

Pittston Township was led by home runs from Drew Delucca and Anthony Cencetti in the come-from-behind win over the Exeter Cardinals.

Cencetti and Anthony Ranieli each pitched for the winners with Ranieli picking up the win.

Pittston Township (1) 9

Exeter (2) 6

Harry Pugliese provided the key hit for Pittston Township in the eighth inning for the win against Exeter.

Robbie Barbieri, Anthony Ranieli and Anthony Cencetti pitched for Pittston Township with Cencetti picking up the victory. Puglieise and Nick Sciandra had two hits each.

John Morgan led Exeter with an excellent game on the mound and three hits at the plate.
