Playing at Wyoming Area helped prepare Julian Campenni for a college career at the University of Connecticut.

A season on the sidelines with the Warriors got Campenni ready to begin his college career in coaching.

Campenni is serving as a graduate assistant, working with the offense at Boston College.

Boston College, which was facing Notre Dame Saturday on national television, split its first two games, beating Northern Illinois, 23-20, before falling to Wake Forest, 34-10.

Campenni followed up his playing career with the Warriors by earning four letters at the University of Connecticut where he was a Huskies captain in 2015. He played in 47 games, making 38 career starts, and was a second-team, All-American Athletic Conference lineman as a senior.

Following an invitation to mini-camp with the Indianapolis Colts last summer, Campenni returned home and coached the defensive line when the Warriors went 9-3 and won the Wyoming Valley Conference Class 4A Division title.
