Wyoming Area placed three players, including two defensive linemen, on the first team of the Times Leader Football All-Star Team that was revealed in the newspaper’s Christmas Eve edition.

Senior defensive lineman Shane Eslick, junior defensive lineman Cameron Carr and senior wide receiver Marc Anthony Minichello were the Warriors named to the team, which also included Pittston Area wide receiver Kevin Krawczyk.

Eslick and Carr were 1-2 on the team in tackles for losses and shared the lead in sacks.

Minichello led Wyoming Valley Conference Division 4 players with 43 catches.

Krawczyk was second in the entire WVC in receiving yards (753) and touchdown receptions (10).

Pittston Area senior quarterback Walter Coles, Wyoming Area senior offensive lineman Damon Barhight and Wyoming Area sophomore defensive back Dominic DeLuca were second-team selections.

GIRLS TENNIS

Wyoming Area sophomore Brianna Pizzano was recognized for the second straight year.

Pizzano, the Player of the Year last season as a freshman, was a first-team choice after repeating her District 2 Class 2A singles title. The only district singles champion in school history lost only once within the WVC and District 2, against Player of the Year Stephanie Mazurek from Hazleton Area.

Pittston Area junior Abby Connors was a second-team choice.

BOYS SOCCER

Pittston Area junior goalkeeper Kyle Mlodzienski was a first-team choice.

Mlodzienski made 252 saves while allowing 42 goals.

FIELD HOCKEY

Aubrey Mytych, a Wyoming Seminary junior forward from Wyoming, was a first-team selection.

The Penn State recruit scored 10 goals and assisted five more in the seven-game playoff run that lifted the Blue Knights to the District 2 Class A title and an appearance in the state championship game. She was also among the WVC’s top 10 goal scorers.

GOLF

Pittston Area senior Allie Craig was named to the team.

Craig won the Class 3A girls portion of the WVC qualifier for the District 2 tournament, then advanced through district and East Regional play to finish her career at the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Championships.
