Pittston Library reopens

New carpet and lighting were installed, the interior was painted, and the childrenâ??s playroom was renovated into a senior space and periodical room.
Also the computers were moved to the main floor to accommodate more computers. The old computer room was tuned into a work space for the staff.
The renovations are preliminary work in advance of a planned expansion.
The fall Library hours are:Monday, noon â?? 8 p.m; Tuesday, 9 a.m. â?? 5 p.m.;Wednesday, 9 a.m. â?? 5 p.m.; Thursday, noon â?? 8 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. â?? 5 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. â?? 4 p.m.
Upcoming events include the Friends Fall Festival is September 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a flea market, book sale, bake sale and more.
The Taste of Pittston event on September 23 is for adults and will include wine tastings from local wineries and food tasting from local restaurants. Limited tickets are available at the library and are $30 per person. The proceeds will go towards our expansion fund.
