PRINGLE – New collaboration between home districts and West Side Career and Technology Center is under way, the tech school's joint operating committee learned Thursday.

Tech school Administrative Director Nancy Tkatch and Superintendent of Record Charles Suppon reported Tkatch and other administrators from West Side attended a management team meeting at Wyoming Valley West, where Suppon is superintendent.

The meeting was the first step in a new collaboration that will see the two schools working together to develop curriculum, Suppon said. He added he would like to see department heads from all five home districts coming together to work on programs in the future.

In other business, the committee:

• Reappointed Charles R. Coslett as school solicitor for 2013 at a remuneration of $31,620. It will mark the 34th year of Coslett's service to the tech school.

• Approved the replacement of the data department copier with a new one from Topp Copy through the COSTARS state contract. The lease on the new copier is $740 a month, a savings of $671 over the old lease.

• Accepted letters of recommendation from Maripat Makalusky and Linda Pineno.

• Added Joseph Morris to the approved substitute list, pending clearances.
