WEST PITTSTON – Borough police are searching for the driver of a white pickup truck who allegedly attempted to abduct two children in the area of Freemont Street and Exeter Avenue on Friday.

According to police, the driver of the truck attempted to speak with and lure two juvenile males into the truck. The juveniles ran from the scene, at which point the truck left the scene travelling north on Exeter Avenue.

The truck is described as a white pickup with a Pennsylvania license plate and a sticker on the rear window, possibly showing two crossed rifles, and a silver tool box in the truck bed.

The driver is described as a black male with a thin to medium build, with a small amount of facial hair and a ruddy complexion. He was reportedly wearing a stocking cap or baseball cap turned backwards.

Anyone who remembers seeing a truck fitting the description is asked to contact West Pittston police at 655-7780 or contact Luzerne County 911.
