LAFLIN — The borough council met for a special monthly meeting Monday evening to finalize details of the impending Oakwood Park infrastructure project.

The meeting focused on revisiting bids and accepting proposals in order to finally enact the plan and get it in motion.

The board moved forward with financing the project through Fidelity Deposit & Discount Bank.

“I am so glad to see this moving forward,” said Councilman Paul Benderavich. “It’s been eight years in the making and it’s finally happening.”

The board also moved on an easement agreement with PP&L in regards to some of the private properties that will be affected by the infrastructure project.
