DURYEA — The Duryea Betterment Committee announces the first “Yards of Distinction Awards and Eye Popping Planter Contest” for businesses and residents beginning Sunday, May 1.
Residents can nominate their garden, or a neighbor’s garden, for “ Yard of Distinction” or “Eye Popping Planter” certificates presented by the borough council. Special attention should be to colorful plantings and curb appeal.
Check the Duryea Betterment Committee Facebook page for nomination information and also to post pictures of work on the website.
Nomination forms can be mailed to the borough building, 315 Main St., Duryea, PA 18642 until Friday, July 1 with awards to be presented shortly after.
