EXETER – Emily Dunn and Olivia Norwillo each won two individual and one relay event Friday afternoon to lead visiting Pittston Area to a 123-54 Wyoming Valley Conference girls swimming victory over rival Wyoming Area.
Pittston Area won 10 of 12 events, swept the three relays and went 1-2 in four of the seven individual swimming events.
“They did well for being off for a week,” Pittston Area coach Heather Clancy said after her team improved to 3-5 on the season.
Dunn won the 200- and 500-yard freestyles.
Norwillo won the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly.
Kiersten Grieco and Kaitlyn Connors each won an individual event and were part of two relay wins. Grieco won the 50 freestyle. Connors won the 100 backstroke.
Ella Hoban won the 100 freestyle and was part of a relay win.
Morgan Gromelski and Rachel Senese were on two winning relays and Peyton Spindler was on one.
Kayla Taddei won the diving and Sydni Johnson finished first in the 100 breaststroke for Wyoming Area.

Pittston Area put up 49 points in the second half of Friday night’s WVC Division 1 home victory.
Mike George and Brennan Higgins each scored 10 points in the second half and Sevion Leak had nine.
Pittston Area took a 17-8 lead after one quarter and was up 28-21 at halftime before the game opened up.
The Patriots outscored the Crusaders 23-21 in the third quarter and 26-21 in the fourth quarter to wind up with five players scoring in double figures.
Logan Booth led the way with 18 points. George had 16, Higgins 14, Leak 12 and Andrew Krawczyk 10.
Brandon Hall scored 18 of his 25 points and Anthony Egidio had 19 of his 23 in the second half for Coughlin.
The win improved Pittston Area to 11-7, clinching a berth in the District 2 Class 5A playoffs.

Meyers handed Wyoming Area its 11th straight loss overall during Friday night’s WVC Division 2 game.
Daniel Wiedl led the Warriors with 11 points while Cole Coolbaugh added 10.

Collin Cook scored 21 points and Jenkins Township resident Nick Prociak added 18 for Holy Redeemer in the Jan. 26 WVC crossover game.
Jake Greenfield had 17 points and Cole Coolbaugh had 14 for Wyoming Area.

Nicole Silinskie led the way with 21 points.

Pittston Area held Crestwood to two points each in the second and fourth quarters of Monday’s WVC Division 1 victory.
The Lady Patriots led 22-6 at halftime.
Jada Sharp led the way with nine points.

Rebecca Avery scored five of her 15 points in the fourth quarter when Tunkhannock outscored Wyoming Area, 18-10, to rally for the WVC Division 2 win.

Connor Wrobleski placed sixth at 160 pounds to lead Wyoming Area during the Jan. 25-26 tournament at Panther Valley.
The Warriors finished 33rd out of 37 teams.
