Students at Pittston Area Primary Center make police badges

- Submitted photo

After learning about a police officer’s job and viewing examples of police patches from around the country, students at Pittston Area’s Martin F. Quinn Area Primary Center designed their own police patches in art class. The patches included words and pictures representing their appreciation for the police in the community. The top three winners for each grade were awarded when Hughestown Police Officers Ruddy Navarro and Drew Malvizzi visited to speak about a police officer’s role in our community. From left, first row, are Audrey Twardowski, Yarielis Pagan-Cubi, David Krantz, Jared Jones, Eleanor Allardyce. Second row, Ruddy Navarro, Hughestown police officer; Mrs. Aryanna Davis; art teacher; Drew Malvizzi, Hughestown police officer. Absent at the time of the photo was Bridget Bufogle.
