A flea market will be held Saturday, May 5 and Sunday, May 6 in the church hall. Items in good condition that are longer wanted or needed can be dropped off in the church hall from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, and 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Sundays, until Thursday, May 3. Items that will be accepted include household items, kitchen items, toys, holiday decorations, books, jewelry, furniture and more. Electronics and clothing will not be accepted.

An Easter Concert will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22. It will feature the combined choirs of St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph Marello Parish along with many instrumentals. In observance of the Scranton Diocese’s 150th anniversary this yearm the theme is “The Journey Makes Us One.” There is no change for the concert.

The Greater Pittston Kids Clothes Closet is open from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays.

The Care and Concern Free Health Clinic is open every Wednesday and is free of charge. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. in the former Seton Catholic High School and is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Patients for The Pediatric Health Clinic opens at 4:30 p.m. on the first Thursday and third Thursday of the month at the Care and Concern facility, 37 William St. Children’s immunization records are required upon registration. Parents or guardians must be present to have their child examined. All services are free and confidential.

The food pantry is always in need of the following items: cereal, tuna, peanut butter, jelly, canned fruit, soups, vegetables, canned hams and other non-perishable items. Call 570-654-9923 for more information.

A bus trip to the American Music Theater in Lancaster to see “Songs of the Silver Screen” will be held Saturday, May 19. Following the show will be dinner at the Shady Maple Smorgasbord with time to visit the gift shop. Cost of the trip is $100 per person and includes show, dinner, bus seat, taxes and tips – all inclusive.
