A chicken barbecue dinner will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 2. The dinner is to benefit the youth trip to Washington DC. With a $6 donation, customers will receive a ticket for a chicken barbecue dinner served with macaroni and cheese, vegetable, roll and dessert. Tickets may be reserved by calling the church, 570-654-0283. Tickets will also be available at the door. The dinner is eat in or take out.

Oblates of St. Joseph

The Oblates of St. Joseph will celebrate the Feast Day of its founder St. Joseph Marello with a Triduum (three days of prayers) that will begin Sunday, May 27 with a Holy Mass at 7 p.m. followed by devotional prayers to St. Joseph Marello and individual blessing with a first-class relic of the Saint. Confessions will be heard before the Mass and the Holy Rosary will be recited. The Feast will be celebrated with a Solemn Mass at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 30 Serving as celebrant and homilist will be Bishop James Timlin, D.D. retired Bishop of Scranton. Concelebrants will be the local Oblate Fathers. Music will be provided by the Knights of Columbus Choir under the direction of David Tighe. Following the Holy Mass, a reception will be held for everyone on the seminary grounds hosted by the members of the Josephite-Marellian Lay Association of Pennsylvania.

Sacred Heart of Jesus Church

Memorial Day Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday, May 28 in the cemetery chapel on Pine Street.

The Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is celebrated on Friday, June 8. A special Mass will be celebrated in the church hall at 6 p.m. During this Mass, the Enthronement Ceremony of the Sacred Heart will be celebrated and the Act of Consecration and the Litany of the Sacred Heart will be recited. Participants may bring an image of the Sacred Heart for blessing and certificates will be distributed.
