A strawberry social and bake sale will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 28. Ticket cost is $5 which includes a strawberry dessert (cake, strawberries, ice cream, whipped cream) and a beverage. Lunch items, including hot dogs, wimpies and baked goods, will be available. A Chicken BBQ and Basket Raffle will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12 in the parking lot of Arcaro and Genell Restaurant, 433 S. Main St. The dinner is take-out with some limited outside seating. The dinner will be prepared by Arcaro and Genell and included in the $10 ticket price will be ½ BBQ chicken, corn on the cob, pasta salad, and a roll. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling the rectory at 570-457-5900 by Wednesday, Aug. 1. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Annual Novena in honor of St. Ann will continue through Wednesday, July 26, the feast of St. Ann and Joachim, parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Novena prayers will be said after all Masses.

Theme basket donations are now being accepted to be raffled off at this year’s picnic. For purposes of uniformity, a minimum value of $35 per basket is requested. All items must be unused.

Non-perishable foods and paper goods are being collected for the food baskets. Donations should be brought to the church hall. Anyone wishing to donate a prize for any of the stands is welcome to do so. Please be sure to designate for which stand the prize is being donated.

A new weekend Mass schedule has begun and is as follows: Saturday, 4:30 p.m.; Sunday, 9 and 11:30 a.m.

The Greater Pittston Kids Clothes Closet is open from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays.

The Care and Concern Free Health Clinic is open every Wednesday and is free of charge. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. in the former Seton Catholic High School and is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Patients for The Pediatric Health Clinic opens at 4:30 p.m. on the first Thursday and third Thursday of the month at the Care and Concern facility, 37 William St. Children’s immunization records are required upon registration. Parents or guardians must be present to have their child examined. All services are free and confidential.

The food pantry is always in need of the following items: cereal, tuna, peanut butter, jelly, canned fruit, soups, vegetables, canned hams and other non-perishable items. Call 570-654-9923 for more information.

A new weekend Mass schedule is as follows: Saturday, 4 p.m.; Sunday, 8 and 10:30 a.m.

The French boys choir Les Petits Chanteurs de Nogent-sur-Marne will perform at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19. The concert is free and open to the public. This choir of 15 boys, ranging from 10 to 18 years old, is conducted by François Olivier, Titular of the Choir Organ at the prestigious Church of St. Eustache in Paris, France. Formerly called Les Moineaux, the boys choir has been singing and touring France and throughout the world for 65 years. Their life is made up of concerts, television shows, singing lessons, tours and participating in the Sacred Liturgy. Les Moineaux’s concert repertoire will include music of the sixteenth century, Handel’s famous Hallelujah, and Gounod’s Ave Maria, as well as traditional French folk songs.
