The 42nd annual Harvest Festival, or “Dozynki” as it is known, will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9 on the parish grounds. Polka Punch will begin providing entertainment at 1:30 p.m. The blessing of the Harvest Wreath will be at noon. In addition to our popular basket raffles and games we will have face painting, storytelling and a bounce house for the children.

Holy Hour is held every Wednesday from 6 to 7 p. m. followed by the Mass and the novena prayers to St. Joseph and St. Joseph Marello.

The Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is held from 6 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday in the seminary chapel at St. Joseph’s Oblate Seminary. It includes recitation of the Rosary and opportunity for confessions. Holy Mass is celebrated at 7 p.m., followed by Novena prayers to St. Joseph and St. Joseph Marello, founder of the Oblates of St. Joseph religious congregation. In preparation for the 2018-19 school year, adult volunteer catechists and classroom aides are needed. Anyone interested should contact Elaine Starinski, DRE, at 570-362-1900, or the parish office. CCD registration forms are available in the narthex and on the parish website. CCD Classes for the 2018-19 school year will begin on Sunday, Sept.9. Classes will be held from 9:20 to 10:20 a.m.

The 20th annual pasta and meatball dinner, hosted by the Holy Name Society will be held Saturday, Sept. 15 in the church hall. Take-out will be 3 to 5 p.m. and eat-in dinners 4 to 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased from members of the Holy Name Society as well as at the parish office at a cost of $9 for adults and $4 for children under 12.

A Pro-Life “Baby Shower” sponsored by the Pastoral Outreach Apostolate will be held the weekend of Sept. 22 and 23 to benefit the Wyoming Valley Chapter of Pennsylvanians for Human Life. As of now, members will collect baby items (new, not used) such as sleepers, blankets/afghans, quilts, wash cloths and towels, baby clothing (sizes newborn – 12 months), disposable diapers, etc. Donations may be dropped off before or after Masses and can be placed in the play pen located in the church narthex. Monetary donations will also be gratefully accepted and can be placed in the collection basket or sent to the parish office in a marked envelope indicating a donation to the Baby Shower. The Pastoral Outreach Apostolate invite all to attend a mock baby shower to be held in the church hall on Sunday, Sept. 23 after the 10:30 a.m. Mass.

A pasta dinner will be held at the St. Anthony Center, 156 Erie Ave., Exeter from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16. The dinner includes pasta and meatballs, salad, roll, beverages, and dessert. A bus pilgrimmage to the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy of Faustina in Stockbridge, Massachuesetts will be held Friday, Oct. 5. The bus leaves at 7 a.m. from the back section of the parish parking lot. World Youth Day will be held in Panama City, Panama from Jan. 22-27, 2019. World Day is an initiative from St. John Paul II to gather Young Catholics of the world every two to three years in a celebration of faith and culture. The World Youth Day events gather millions, including Pope Francis, young Catholics, clergy, and religious brothers and sisters.
