Holy Hour is held every Wednesday from 6 to 7 p. m. followed by the Mass and the novena prayers to St. Joseph and St. Joseph Marello.

The Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is held from 6 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday in the seminary chapel at St. Joseph’s Oblate Seminary. It includes recitation of the Rosary and opportunity for confessions. Holy Mass is celebrated at 7 p.m., followed by Novena prayers to St. Joseph and St. Joseph Marello, founder of the Oblates of St. Joseph religious congregation. “Fatima Day” devotions to Our Lady of Fatima, Queen of the Rosary, will be held in Sacred Heart Church at 7 p.m. Saturday Oct. 13. The Legion of Mary will sponsor this holy hour which will feature the crowning of the statute of Our Lady of Fatima, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and the recitation of the rosary with other prayers.

A Senior Bingo sponsored by our Pastoral Outreach Apostolate will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, October 14 in the church hall. All who are 60 years of age and older are invited. Admission is free. Snacks and token prizes will be given.

The Novena to St. Jude will be prayed in Sacred Heart Church beginning Saturday, Oct. 20, immediately prior to the 4 p.m. Mass and conclude Sunday, Oct. 28, immediately prior to the 10:30 a.m. Mass. During weekdays, the novena prayers will be recited following Mass. Throughout the novena his statue will be placed in the sanctuary and a first class relic of St. Jude will be offered for veneration after each Mass.

The Women’s Society Advent Pierogi Sale will take Wednesday, Nov. 7 to Wednesday, Nov. 14. Orders will be taken the weekend of Oct. 20 and 21 after all Masses. Potato and cabbage pierogi will be available. $8 per dozen. Call the Parish Office to place an order. Payment is made at the time of pick-up.

A chicken dinner will be held Sunday, Oct. 7. Takes-outs are from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and eat-in is from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Adult dinners include 1/2 chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, cole slaw, bread, cake and a drink. Children’s dinners include three chicken tenders, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, cole slaw, bread, cake and a drink. Adult meals are $10 and children’s meals are $5. The Harvest Tea will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10 in the Parish Center. This tea raises money for the Msgr. Philip Gay Awards which are presented to high school seniors from St. Maria Goretti Parish. World Youth Day will be held in Panama City, Panama from Jan. 22-27, 2019. World Day is an initiative from St. John Paul II to gather Young Catholics of the world every two to three years in a celebration of faith and culture. The World Youth Day events gather millions, including Pope Francis, young Catholics, clergy, and religious brothers and sisters.
