The second annual Cookie Walk for the Christmas holiday will be conducted by the Sacred Heart Church Welcome Committee from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 and from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, Dec. 9. There will be many different choices of homemade cookies, candies and fudge prepared and donated by fellow parishioners — from the stand-by favorites like chocolate chip and peanut butter, to the specialty cookies that you only get to enjoy around Christmas. Price is $8 per pound.

The oplatki, the traditional Eastern European Christmas Eve wafers, will be blessed during the 4 p.m. Mass on Dec. 1. Oplatki and 2019 calendars will be distributed in the church hall immediately following each Mass that weekend to mark the start of Advent. The offering is $2 per envelope for the wafers.

An evening of Christmas Caroling will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, 6-7:30 p.m. Parishioners interested in participating are invited to gather in the church hall at 6 p.m. for an hour of caroling around the neighborhood followed by hot chocolate and cookies in the church hall. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Anyone wishing to bake cookies is asked to drop them off at 5:45 p.m. prior to caroling. Remember to dress warmly, bring a flashlight and your jingle bells.
