Members and guests of the West Pittston Women’s Club gathered at the Fox Hill Country Club on May 20 for their Annual Spring Luncheon.
During the past club season, three active and admired members passed away. They were Edith Kepics, Jasmine Mikita and Louise Smith. A candle memorial celebration took place in their memory, and it was announced that a book, for each of them, was donated by the club, in their memory, to the West Pittston Library.
The West Pittston Women’s Club is an avid supporter of the West Pittston Library, Meals on Wheels, SPCA and the Salvation Army, to name a few. The club also continues to take part in the scholarship awards program at Wyoming Area High School.
The club is comprised of women who reside in Pittston, West Pittston, Exeter and Wyoming. The new season will start in September. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month at the First Methodist church in West Pittston. New members are always welcome.
