Greater Pittston students participate in medical simulation

DALLAS TWP. — Misericordia University students Julianna Stellas, West Wyoming, and Olivia Mayorowski, Old Forge, recently participated in an interprofessional medical simulation activity at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, Marywood University and the University of Scranton.

Both students are majoring in social work.

In this simulation, the students collaborated with their interdisciplinary team of nursing and medical students to develop a treatment plan for a patient with an acute medical problem and provide support for the patient’s parents. Social work students provided assessment and support to the family, while the medical and nursing students worked to stabilize the patient.

They also collaborated with graduate students in the Marywood University Master of Social Work degree program.

This annual Who’s Who of the office technology dealer community, which has been bestowed upon the industry’s leaders since 1988, will be featured in the December issue of ENX Magazine.

Golden named to deans list

SPARTANBURG, SC — Lauren Golden, of Dupont, has been named to Sherman College of Chiropractic’s Dean’s List for the 2017 summer academic quarter.

McDermott named scholar

SELINSGROVE — Anna McDermott, of Hughestown, is among the 212 students recently named Susquehanna University Scholars during the annual Scholars Program held on Nov. 3.

McDermott is a an undeclared major in the Class of 2020. A 2016 graduate of Pittston Area High School, she is the daughter of Robert McDermott and the granddaughter of Shirley Antal.

Get well wishes

Get well wishes are extended to Tony Schwab, of Plains. Tony is a member of the Wilkes University Sports Hall of Fame and the Luzerne County Sports Hall of Fame.

Birth announcements

A girl was born to Raven Wall and Oliver Heredia, Pittston, on Oct. 14.

A boy was born to Mallory Strubeck, West Pittston, on Nov. 3.
