DURYEA — Mother Nature cooperated, providing a dusting of snow Saturday for the annual Christmas Stroll along Main Street. Santa Claus and Krampus visited and even posed for a photo. In folklore, Krampus is a horned, anthropomorphic figure described as “half-goat, half-demon,” who, during the Christmas season, punishes children who have misbehaved, in contrast with Saint Nicholas, who rewards the well-behaved with gifts.

At the event, children had the opportunity to make “reindeer food” with oats, sprinkles and glitter, get candy from Frosty the Snowman and visit with a live reindeer from Bloomsburg Spruce Run Whitetail Deer Farm. A live nativity was also acted by children.
