PITTSTON — M. Mayo Striping will, once again, add the famous green stripe down the center of Main Street in the city for the 2019 Pittston St. Patrick’s Parade.

Ben Gadomski and his daughter Jennifer, of M. Mayo Striping, will take the reins for the annual duty of line painting.

Line-painting will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22 with bagpiper Butch Modzelewski leading the way, playing his bag pipe all the way down Main Street while the Gadomskis paint the line.

“Mayo Striping is our very good friends,” said Pittston St. Patrick’s Parade Coordinator Sarah Donahue said. “They decided it would be great fun if they dressed up as leprechauns, or maybe they really are leprechauns, it has not been confirmed, while painting the line.”

In addition to painting the line, they also paint the large shamrocks on the road in front of Joyce Insurance, the Tomato Festival lot and the Sunoco gas station.

Donahue said Mayo does not charge for its services.

“They are so good to us and I love people that are spirited about the parade and go the extra mile,” Donahue said. “They don’t need to do that but they do and I love that. I so appreciate it.”

Parade-goers will be able to see the M. Mayo Striping trucks during the 2019 Pittston St. Patrick’s Parade on March 2.
