Brody Spindler posted pins in all six matches Dec. 6 as Pittston Area finished third out of 12 teams in the Gary Woodruff Memorial Duals at Wyalusing Valley.
Spindler won four of the bouts in the first period, including a 58-second victory over Mason Mitchell of Valley View for the 100th win of his career.
The senior 215-pounder is 8-0 with every victory coming by pin this season. He is 105-26 with 63 pins.
Pittston Area won five of its six matches in the one-day event and later added a victory in its conference opener to run its overall record to 7-1.
Jahiem Butler and Mikel Roman also went 6-0 at the Woodruff Duals. Butler had three technical falls and a pin at 133 and 139. Roman had a pin, technical fall and major decision at 107.
Pittston Area 56, Nanticoke 18
Pittston Area opened its Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 title defense with Tuesday’s romp.
Noah Gruber (285), Tim Riefler (121), Brody Spindler (215), and Ethan Aftewicz (160) posted first-period pins.
Chase Baron won a technical fall in just 2:11 at 152.
Hanover Area 47, Wyoming Area 30
Riley Pierce (189) and Chase Wilhelm (114) posted first-period pins for Wyoming Area in Thursday’s Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 opener.
Caden Reynolds (215) and Caiden Swartwood (145) also won by pin.
The Warriors dropped to 3-4 overall.
Pittston Area 44, Wyalusing Valley 27
Pittston Area beat the host team in the third-place match to wrap up the Woodruff Duals.
The Rams led 15-0 after three bouts before back-to-back, first-period pins by Brody Spindler and Noah Gruber at the two highest weight classes began the comeback. Gruber needed just 18 seconds for his win.
Tim Riefler won by 16-second pin at 127 and Hayden Harris needed just 23 seconds to provide the clinching pin at 145.
Chase Baron added a first-period pin at 152, and Jahiem Butler finished off a technical fall in the second period at 133.
Benton 54, Wyoming Area 12
Wyoming Area finished sixth after its loss to Benton at the Woodruff Duals.
Riley Pierce started the match with a pin for Wyoming Area at 172. Chase Wilhelm and Evan Lark won back-to-back close decisions at 114 and 121.
Pittston Area 53, Scranton Prep 17
Pittston Area finished 4-1 in its Woodruff Duals pool with the win over Scranton Prep.
The Patriots overcame a 17-12 deficit by winning the last seven bouts, starting again with first-period pins by Brody Spindler and Noah Gruber.
Chase Baron (152), Ethan Aftewicz (160), and Tim Riefler (121) also posted first-period pins, and Jahiem Butler (133) won by technical fall.
Pittston Area 59, Wyoming Area 18
The rivals got an extra meeting with each other during the Woodruff Duals.
Damon Swartwood got Wyoming Area off to a positive start by pinning Kenneth Nunez with 32 seconds left in the 139-pound bout.
Pittston Area went ahead to stay when Hayden Harris pinned Gabriel Rosengrant in 38 seconds and Chase Baron pinned Lincoln Smith in 2:55 at 145 and 152.
Ethan Aftewicz and Johanzel Mendez received forfeits for the Patriots at 160 and 189, sandwiching them around a Riley Pierce forfeit victory for the Warriors at 172 to make it 24-12.
Brody Spindler pinned Caden Reynolds in 3:20 at 215, and Noah Gruber won a forfeit at 285 to increase the lead to 36-12 heading into the lightweights.
Pittston Area’s Mikel Roman defeated Tyler Randazzo 20-4 in 2:52 at 107.
The only remaining bout to be contested was Tim Riefler’s 36-second pin for Pittston Area over Evan Lark.
Chase Wilhelm won by forfeit for Wyoming Area at 114, and Pittston Area’s Tibor Toth and Jahiem Butler won forfeits in the final two bouts at 127 and 133.
Bellefonte 54, Pittston Area 18
Tournament champion Bellefonte handed Pittston Area its only loss at the Woodruff Duals.
Jahiem Butler (139) and Brody Spindler (215) won forfeits.
Pittston Area 47, Valley View 29
Brody Spindler’s milestone victory was part of a late flurry in which Pittston Area broke a 29-29 tie and won with three pins that took only 2:10 combined.
Noah Gruber won in nine seconds at 285, and Mikel Roman won in 1:03 at 107.
Ethan Aftewicz pinned his opponent at 16,0 and Hayden Harris won a technical fall at 145.
Pittston Area 71, Elk Lake 6
Elk Lake forfeited eight bouts to Pittston Area in the Woodruff Duals opener.
Noah Gruber (285), Hayden Harris (145), and Brody Spindler (215) won by first-period pin, while Jahiem Butler (133) won by technical fall.
Wyoming Area 48, Elk Lake 18
Caden Reynolds (215) and Caiden Swartwood (145) finished their pins in less than a minute as Wyoming Area finished 3-2 in the pool play portion of the Woodruff Duals.

Damon Swartwood won a major decision at 139.

Damon Swartwood and Caden Reynolds pinned their opponents in 33 seconds at 139 and 215.
Evan Lark won in 48 seconds at 121.
Lincoln Smith posted a pin at 152, and Riley Pierce a technical fall at 172.
Bellefonte 65, Wyoming Area 11
Bellefonte won by rout in the Woodruff Duals opener.
Damon Swartwood, who won a technical fall at 139, was the only Warrior to win on the mat.
