Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 scoring champion Aleah Kranson returns for her senior season to lead an otherwise younger lineup that will try to keep the Lady Warriors in contention.

Kranson scored 43 goals and added 24 assists a year ago when Wyoming Area tied for second in the division with a 13-3 record and won one District 2 Class 2A playoff game to reach the quarterfinals.

“I would like to continue to build on last year’s successes,” Lady Warriors coach Nikki Sitkowski said. “We need to stay focused on our team goals and stay injury-free.

“We have the potential to do big things this year as long as we work together.”

Kranson was a first-team Times Leader all-star last season when Abigail Yatsko was a second-team choice.

Yatsko is part of a strong junior class that also features Tierney Porfirio, Caitlin McDonough and Carley Yuhas.

Sydni Johnson and goalkeeper Lauren Kelly are the only other seniors on a roster of three seniors, 10 juniors, six sophomores and five freshmen.
