Pittston Area’s Jaylin Marion split her four matches, all of which ended in pins, in the Central Regional Girls Wrestling Championships March 2 at Milton High School.

Marion wrestled with the boys team throughout the regular season because Pittston Area does not have girls wrestling. She entered the District 2 championships a week earlier and went 2-1, reaching the final and finishing second.

In the first year of Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association-sanctioned girls wrestling, Marion came up with two more wins on the regional level at 124 pounds.

Needing a top-four finish to get to the state tournament in Hershey, Marion wound up tied for seventh out of 12 wrestlers in her weight class.
