Avery McNulty won All-Atlantic Region and Centennial Conference championships in the high jump to complete the indoor track and field season at Muhlenberg College.

The sophomore, who is a Scranton Prep graduate from Pittston, also was on Muhlenberg’s basketball team.

McNulty won those titles with the latest two of the three times she has matched the school record, which has stood for 23 years, by clearing 5-5 in the high jump. She also made it over 5-5 in the Muhlenberg Indoor Invitational.

Those performances helped land McNulty on the All-Metro Region team selected by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

McNulty was nearly out of the Centennial Conference Championships with two misses at 5-3¼, but she made it over the bar on the third and final attempt. One of three jumpers to advance to 5-5, she was the only one to succeed at that height.

The 6-foot forward averaged 4.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.6 blocked shots in basketball season. She shot 29.0 percent from the floor, 28.8 on 3-pointers and 53.7 on free throws.

Muhlenberg went 9-11 in the Centennial and 14-11 overall.
