PITTSTON — The annual Carmelo Falcone trophy will presented at the completion of the Pittston Area/Wyoming Area football game at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at Charley Trippi Stadium, Yatesville. There have been 43 recipients of the trophy, including three two-time winners.

Sam Falcone, great-grandson of Carmello Falcone, will present the MVP trophy at the conclusion of the game.

Pittston Area football teammates from the Class of 1969, Tony Martinelli and Eddie Brennan, will select this year’s MVP. Both Martinelli and Brennan played on the only Patriot undefeated team in 1967.

There are three players winning the award twice are: Jim Pizano (’91, ’93), Nick O’Brien (’10, ’12), and Brian Miles (’15, ’16), all from Wyoming Area.
