Wyoming Area suffered a pair of 5-0 losses to begin the Wyoming Valley Conference boys tennis season.

The Warriors lost to Crestwood in Monday’s opener, then fell to defending champion Wyoming Seminary Wednesday in the only WVC events a Greater Pittston team has been able to complete in a weather-disrupted start of the high school sports season.

The first two Wyoming Area opponents combined to go 18-4 a year ago.

Wyoming Area was most competitive at the top singles and doubles spots during the match with Crestwood.

Joseph Skrip took Brandon Krupa to a 12th game in the second set before falling, 7-5.

Alex Chronowski-Austin Alder won the most games for the Warriors when they fell to Sam Majdic-Zach Anderson, 6-4, 6-4.

Wyoming Seminary dropped just seven games in six singles sets and four games in four doubles sets.

Skrip, playing second singles in the second match, again produced the closest singles match, losing 6-3, 6-1 to Andrew Kim.

Wyoming Area is at Pittston Area Monday.
