Brandon Matthews is climbing through the ranks of the Web.com Tour after putting his best two tournament finishes back-to-back.
The former state high school golf champion at Pittston Area followed up a 10th-place finish in the North Mississippi Classic by shooting 71-72-72-75—290 to finish at 2-over-par for 11th place in the United Leasing & Finance Championship in Newburgh, Ind. April 26-29.
Matthews moved up from 104th to 53rd on the tour’s money list in two weeks. He is also up to second in average driving distance at 325.4 while ranking 22nd in average birdies per round with 4.04.
The 23-year-old from Dupont earned $11,200 at the United Leasing & Financing Championship, putting his season earnings at $30,529.
The Web.com Tour was off this week. It resumes action May 10-13 in Tennessee with the Knoxville Open.
