Dupont’s Brandon Matthews continues to lead the Web.com Tour in driving distance, but will be looking to bounce back from two missed cuts when the tour resumes Thursday after a week off.

Matthews is averaging 337.1 yards on 53 measured drives, including a 400-yarder in Round 3 of the Knoxville Open.

The 23-year-old former Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association state high school champion while at Pittston Area currently ranks 58th on the money list of the PGA Tour’s equivalent of its top minor league.

Matthews has made $53,668 in his first full year on the tour.

The long drives have helped Matthews rank fourth on the tour in birdies with an average of 4.31 per round.

Matthews is 8-for-12 in making cuts this season and 10-for-15 since first making it into a Web.com Tour event last season. He has shot rounds of 66 four times in his last 10 rounds and added a 67 in that stretch.
