Greater Pittston Legion baseball team puts together consecutive wins

The Greater Pittston Senior American Legion baseball team posted wins on consecutive nights to improve its Wyoming Valley League record to 4-2.

Greater Pittston defeated visiting Wilkes-Barre, 4-2, Wednesday, then went on the road for a 6-5 victory over Back Mountain Thursday.

The wins moved Greater Pittston into fourth place in the nine-team league.

Plains fell to 0-5 and was last in the league going into Friday night.

Greater Pittston is off until June 25 when it returns to action with five games in seven days.

Swoyersville and Mountain Post, Plains’ Friday opponent, were undefeated.

Greater Pittston is also fourth in the Junior League with a 4-3 record. Plains was also last in that league with a 1-6 record.
