Wyoming Area was winless past the midway point of the Wyoming Valley Conference girls tennis season, but the Lady Warriors closed out the season in style.

After going 0-7 over the course of more than a month while several matches were postponed because of weather, Wyoming Area improved as the schedule became more hectic late in the regular season.

The Lady Warriors ended the regular season on a four-match winning streak, going 5-1 down the stretch to finish 5-8.

“It’s been a good two weeks for us,” first-year Wyoming Area girls coach Bill Roberts said after his team beat rival Pittston Area Monday, 4-1, and Crestwood in Friday’s finale, 3-2.
