BOYS MAJOR

JTD Pirates 8, Pittston City Athletics 5

Jeremy Cawley’s prowess on the mound led the Pirates over the Athletics. The defense was led by Brayden Powers and Matt Macaluso. David Behm, Brendan Kelly and Hunter Geise all contributed, offensively, for the Pirates.

Pittston Twp. Burgandy 16, JTD Nationals 6

Pittston Township’s Andrew Gallia was 3-for-3 with a double and two home runs in a win over the Nationals.

PJ Pisano picked up the win for Pittston Township. Patrick Bennie and Josh Baiera each had a pair of doubles. Frankie Nocito also had a double.

Chris Vanesko was 2-for-3 for the Nationals.

West Pittston Moose 13, JTD Nationals 4

Evan Melberger finished with a pair of doubles and a pair of triples in West Pittston’s win over the Nationals. Caden Bonita had four singles, while Jeremy Lavelle provided the pop with a home run.

Lavelle finished with eight strikeouts on the mound, while Melberger got the win in relief.

West Pittston Moose 13, Exeter 3

Jeremy Lavelle hit two home runs, while JJ Hood added another as the West Pittston Moose took down Exeter, 13-3.

Ethan Kozden finished with three hits, while Evan Melberger and Zac Capitano had two hits. Dalin Stine got the in on the mound.

For Exeter, John Morgan and Drew Muruck had hits in the loss.

West Pittston Moose 4, Avoca/Dupont 1

JJ Hood struck out 12 batters and added a double in West Pittston’s win over Avoca/Dupont 1. Jeremy Lavelle finished with two hits, while Zac Capitano added a double.

West Pittston Moose 15, Avoca/Dupont 4

Evan Melberger and JJ Hood each had three hits to lead West Pittston past Avoca/Dupont.

Jeremy Lavelle hit two home runs and Zac Capitano added another. Dalin Stine had two hits.

West Pittston Moose 15, Pittston City Red Sox 4

Caden Bonita and Dalin Stine had three hits to lead the Moose past the Red Sox.

Jeremy Lavello got the win while striking out nine.

Pittston Twp. Capozucca Bros. 5, Avoca/Dupont 3

Pittston Township’s Steve Sciandra pitched a complete game, giving up just two runs and striking our four as Pittston Township beat Avoca/Dupont.

Sciandra was 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored. John Renfer also scored twice for Pittston Township. AD’s Derek Cunius knocked in two runs in the fifth inning.

Pittston City Red Sox 1, JTD Phillies 0

Pittston City’s Steve Yanchis gave up only two hits and struck out 13 in a winning effort on Friday.

Yanchis had a first inning double and drove in the winning run for Pittston City. Phillip Gristina also had a double for the Red Sox.

JTD’s Jacob Black struck out 14 batters and gave up two hits in 5-plus innings pitched. Black and Joe Slusark both had singles for JTD.

BOYS MINOR

Duryea 9, West Pittston 8

Drew Mauriello’s two-run triple in the fifth inning started Duryea’s rally, which was eventually a win over West Pittston.

Devon Cerasaro had three hits and scored twice for Duryea. Aiden McCoy and Paul Rusincovitch had two hits each.

Chase Montigney and Dominic Innamorati led the pitching with Louis Lussi closing out the final two innings to secure the win.

Duryea 7, Jenkins Township 4

Mark Korea and Nick Borgia combined for 14 strikeouts to lead Duryea past Jenkins Township.

Marshal Gordon drove in two runs for Duryea. Dean Horenski two hits, including a double, for Jenkins Township.

Duryea 10, West Pittston 7

Mark Korea, Josh Smargiassi and Geno Scateno each had two RBI to pace Duryea past West Pittston. They each had two hits each.

Dominic Bernardi, Luke Snyder and Korea pitched well in the win for Duryea.
