E. Ronald Rogers celebrated his 105th birthday with family at the Wesley Village care facility.

Mr. Rogers was born Jan. 29, 1910 in Bourne End, England near London. In 1912, he and his parents migrated to America and settled in West Pittston where his father was a carpenter in area coal mines.

Mr. Rogers graduated from West Pittston High School in 1929 which was the first class to graduate from the then new high school building. He was employed for 42 years by PP&L at the plant in Harding retiring in 1972.

He married Helen Baird Rogers and celebrated 69 years of marriage until her death in 2004.

Mr. Rogers is the father of Ronald K. Rogers, of Dallas; and Bettie Ann Morgan, Wilkes Barre. He has two grandchildren, Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas Judge Jennifer L. Rogers, of Harveys Lake; and Douglas R. Rogers, of Dover, MA. He has two great grand children, Dylan and Kaitlyn Rogers.
