Catholic Schools Week Jan. 25-30

Holy Rosary School, along with all Catholic schools across the nation, will celebrate Catholic Schools Week Jan. 25-30. Information on the Catholic Schools Week Mass and Open House, along with the other activities that celebrate the faith, academics, and service, will be sent home within the next few weeks.

Holy Rosary School will be holding a high energy, fun-filled fundraiser at Sky Zone, 525 Keystone Ave., Pittston, on Thursday, Jan. 29. Join for a one-hour jumping session any time from 3 to 8 p.m. Cost is $17 per hour. Older and younger children will be separated.

Parents can register online, and to save time, fill out the waiver. More information can be found at http://www.skyzone.com/scranton. A portion of sales for each jumper will benefit HRS.

Little Flowers to visit Riverside Rehab

The Little Flowers will be bringing joyful New Year’s wishes and sharing their contagious enthusiasm while visiting friends at the Riverside Rehab after school on Monday, Jan. 12.

National History Day projects due

All National History Day projects are due on Friday, Jan. 16. Exhibits need to be brought into school, websites published on Weebly, documentaries burned to a disc/flash drive, and plays ready to be performed. History Fair judging will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23.

This is a student/judges only event that will be held in the gymnasium. Students should be present to discuss their research and work with the judges. If the student or group is not present for judging, he/she/they will not be eligible to receive a ribbon. Parents, please pick up your children between 3:30 and 3:45 p.m.

Gift certificate news

Vouchers will be sold from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15 in the Holy Rosary Church basement. Just a reminder: school families may send in orders on Wednesday to be filled on Thursday.

Attention local business owners

Pennsylvania businesses can receive a 75 percent tax credit for a one-year commitment, a 90 percent tax credit for a two-year commitment at the K-12 level, and a 100 percent tax credit at the Pre-K level. Labels and Box Tops being collected

Campbell’s Soup labels and Box Tops for Education are being collected at Holy Rosary School. Please send in labels to the school office or by placing them in the church vestibule. If you have any questions, please contact the school’s office. Also, please check labels for expiration dates.
