It was one of the best days, weather-wise, in the Greater Pittston area in 2015. It was one of the busiest for local streams, ponds and lakes throughout the area.

The first day of trout was held on Saturday, April 18. Starting at 8 a.m., area fishing enthusiasts took to the waters to try and land the fish of a lifetime.

Although the statewide opening day of trout season was April 18, April 4 was opening day for 18 counties in Southeast Pennsylvania. Participants are allowed to keep five fish per day, through Labor Day. Following Labor Day, until Feb. 28, patrons may only keep three trout.
