WEST PITTSTON — The borough will begin yard waste collection on Monday, April 20 and Tuesday, April 21. Each Monday, yard waste will be picked up from residents between Montgomery Avenue and Erie Street and on Tuesdays from Montgomery Avenue to Susquehanna Avenue. Yard waste includes shrubbery or grass clippings and tree limbs not exceeding three feet in length or 1/2 inch in diameter. Containers with yard waste must be no more than 30 pounds and preferably the green containers provided by West Pittston.

Leaves will be collected in containers or biodegradable bags. No plastic bags will be accepted.

Curbside collection of recycling is the first and third Thursday of each month. The bins can be picked up at the Public Works Buildling, 505 Delaware Ave., which is open from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Public Works Department is open on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Cardboard can only be dropped off on Saturdays.
