WA lacrosse clinic Jan. 18
EXETER — The Wyoming Area Lacrosse Association will sponsor a free lacrosse clinic from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday Jan. 18 at the Wyoming Area Secondary Center Gymnasium. Any students in grades 7-12 are invited to attend.
Extra sticks will be available on a limited basis. Please contact Robbie Switzer at rjswitzer@verizon.net or Carl Deluca at carlreeree@comcast.net if one is needed. No other equipment is needed.
Anyone wishing to make a donation to help defray the costs for the upcoming season can drop them off at the clinic.
PTLL holding sign ups starting Jan. 19
PITTSTON TWP. — The Pittston Twp. Little League will hold sign ups from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 19, 21, 27 and 29 at the Pittston Twp. municipal building. The league is open to all children who attend Pittston Area Primary Center, Pittston Area Middle School or residents of Pittston Twp. or Hughestown.
The league will offer T-ball, coach pitch, major and minor baseball or softball. Any child born on or after Jan. 1, 2011 is eligible. Fees are $50 for T-ball, $75 for single player or $120 per family for all other divisions. Birth certificate, school report card and two proofs of residency are required.
Field hockey parents to meet Jan. 20
EXETER — The Wyoming Area Field Hockey Parents Association will meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20 in room 164 at the Secondary Center. Plans for upcoming bingo will be discussed. The treasurer position on the Parents Association is still available. Any parent interested is asked to attend or to make their interest known.
PA Softball Booster Club meeting Jan. 21
There will be a Pittston Area Softball Booster Club Meeting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at Lizza’s Mezzo Mezzo, 711 N. Main St., Pittston.
Exeter Lions LL announces registration dates
EXETER — The Exeter Lions Little League announces that baseball and softball registrations will be held on the following dates at the Exeter Scout Home on the corner of Wyoming Avenue and Lincoln Street: Wednesday, Jan. 21 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24 noon to 2 p.m. and Tuesday, Jan. 27 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Entrance to the Scout Home is behind the Exeter Borough Building.
The fees for the 2015 season shall be as follows: Single player Tball to Majors, $50 plus $50 for lottery, two player family, $70 plus $50 for lottery, three player family, $90 plus $50 for lottery, Junior League baseball and softball and Senior league baseball $115 plus $50 for lottery.
All parents/guardians must bring participant’s birth certificate and three documents proving residency. Registration forms are available in advance at www.exeterlionslittleleague.org.
Women’s self-defense class to be offered
EXETER — Galli’s Fighting Chance School of Self Defense is offering a free, three-hour basic women’s self-defense class from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25 at the 54 Tunkhannock Ave., Exeter.
This is a free, hands-on, instructor-led, instructor-student interactive training session. For more information, call 570-655-2915.
Teener registration set for Jan. 26
PITTSTON TWP. — Registration for Teener League Baseball will be held in the coming weeks at the Duryea Municipal Building.
Any resident of Pittston Township or student at the Pittston Area Middle School is eligible. The team will play with both Duryea and Jenkins Township.
Registration will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Jan. 26, Jan. 28, Feb. 3 and Feb. 5. Teener division is open to those who are between league age 13-16. Cost for registration is $100. No family discount is offered for Teeners.
WA boys and girls lacrosse bagging
EXETER — The Wyoming Area boys and girlsl lacrosse teams will bag groceries for donations from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday Jan. 31 at Gerrity’s in West Pittston.
Collection boxes will be available for those customers who choose to donate.
Moosic Mets hold tryouts Feb. 1
MOOSIC — The Moosic Mets Travel Baseball Organization will hold tryouts for its 9U through 17U teams from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 1 and from 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Feb. 22 at Riverfront Sports. Cost is $20 per player. Prospective players need only attend one tryout and must pre-register by visiting www.moosicmets.net.

West Pittston LL to hold sign ups
WEST PITTSTON — The West Pittston Little League announces the following registration dates for the upcoming 2015 Little League season for T-Ball to Major League: 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 7; 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8; 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 14; , 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15.
Registrations will take place on the second floor of the West Pittston Little League Field House off Sixth Street.
Fees for the 2015 season shall be as follows: Single player T-ball to Majors, $65 plus $50 for the lottery; Family Rate T-ball to Majors $65, then $10 for each additional player beyond one plus $50 for the lottery; $125 total for two players, then $10 per each additional player.
Each player registered you will have the option to donate an eight-pack of Gatorade or one case of 16 oz. bottled water. If you do not wish to donate the Gatorade or water add $10 to each player registered.
Junior/Senior league registration will take place at a later date.
Wyoming/West Wyoming holding registrations
WEST WYOMING — The Wyoming/West Wyoming Little League will hold registrations for the 2015 season from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb. 7; 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12; 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb. 14; and from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19 at the West Wyoming Hose Company No. 2. 218 Stites St., West Wyoming.
Registrations fees are $75 per player or $105 per family for T-ball through Major divisions and $115 per player for the Junior and Senior divisions. There is also a $50 fundraiser fee for each family due at registration for this season’s raffle drawing.

WA Lacrosse teams seeking donations
EXETER — The Wyoming Area Lacrosse Organization kicked off a letter-writing fundraiser in November. Over 100 letters were sent to local business asking for a donation to help start the lacrosse program at Wyoming Area.
The campaign will continue to run over the next several months and anyone interested in donating may send a check made out to the WA Lacrosse Organization to the following address: WA Lacrosse Organization, 116 Exeter Ave., West Pittston, PA 18643.
To date, the campaign has raised over $1,000 and the following businesses have been identified as contributing donors to the programs: Reliable Transportation, Mike’s Lawn Care, Kim Reilly and Associates, Nocito Law Offices, Atty.
