PITTSTON — The Greater Pittston Friendly Sons of St. Patrick President Lee Moneforte announces the club will hold its Annual Past Presidents Dinner on Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Knights of Columbus on Main Street in Pittston.
The night will begin with the annual elections of new officers at 6 p.m., a cocktail hour from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with a buffet dinner catered by award winning chef Gene Philbin to follow. The night will also feature entertainment with dinner and Irish music played by local musician Robert J. Lemoncelli. Cost of the event is $15 per person.
This year’s most recent past president, Edward Hart, will be honored. During his tenure, Hart had many achievements, including the awarding of scholarships to deserving students from the Greater Pittston area, a great halfway to St. Patrick’s Day Party at the Red Mill, another successful year of the Black Shamrock Open, a Christmas gathering, and the culminating event of his presidency, the 100th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Banquet with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden as his principal speaker.
