FALLS —The Falls Active Center Book Club will meet from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 2 to discuss “The Beach House” by Mary Alice Monroe. Beth Rutkowski is the facilitator.
The next book to be discussed on March 2 is “The Story of the Trapp Family Singers” by Maria Agusta Trapp.
A Mardis Gras celebration will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17. There will be special hats and music by Ron Jackson followed with a Mardis Gras lunch.
Sharon Telesky, Master Gardiner Coordinator of Penn State Extension of Luzerene/Wyoming counties, will be here to discuss “Garden Pests and Diseases” from 1 to 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25.
The following activities are available throughout the week:
Mondays: 9:30 to 11 a.m., Wii bowling with Tunkhannock center, alternating sites; 10:30 a.m. to noon, Craft & Crocheting group meets. Any level is welcome.
Tuesdays: Brain games at lunch.
Wednesdays: 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Walking group meets, weather permitting.
Thursdays: Nutrition talks at lunch.
Fridays: 9:30 a.m. to noon Geocaching activity, weather permitting.
Anyone wishing to join the Falls Active Center for a hot meal each day at noon, for a suggested donation of $2 for those 60 and over, and $4.62 for those under 60, should RSVP to Twila at 570-388-2623 by 12:30 p.m. the day before.
