Ashley Thomas

2013 Little Miss Cherry Blossom, Ashley Thomas, has been keeping herself busy over the past year.

Ashley is a third grade student at Wyoming Area Catholic School. At school, Ashley is an active member of Junior Forensics and the school choir. In her free time, Ashley studies all types of dance at Spotlight Dance Studio. Ashley is a member of the competition dance group The Sweet Sensations.

Ashley recently won a high score award in solo tap in her age group at an All American Talent competition in Valley Forge. She will be attending two more dance competitions in the next two months.

Ashley has also been showing off her crown around the area. Ashley most recently visited with residents at Highland Manor Nursing Home. While visiting, she also performed a dance for the residents.

Ashley was also in parades including, Wyoming/West Wyoming Memorial Day parade, Tomato Festival Parade, and the Pittston St. Patrick’s Day parade.

Ashley is looking forward to dancing for everyone during the 43rd Annual West Pittston Cherry Blossom Festival on Saturday and crowning the next Little Miss Cherry Blossom at this year’s festival.

Lily Richman

Lily Richman is eight years old. She has one brother and one sister. Her favorite colors are pink and violet red. Her favorite song is Let It Go, the Demi Levato version. She has two pets, a dog and a cat. Her hobbies include horseback riding, reading, and swimming. Her favorite book is the Dork Diaries. Lily and her family just moved here from South Carolina “for my Dad’s work,” she said.

Morgan Slusser

Morgan is 8 years old and is a second grade student at Montgomery Avenue. She has an older sister, Kaitlyn.

Morgan plays softball for West Pittston Little League, step dances with Emerale Isle Step Dancers of Pittston and is in the junior bowling league at Modern Lanes, Exeter.

Ashlyn Loyack

Ashlyn is 7 years old and is a first grade student in the Pittston Area School District. She loves to dance, bowl and play softball.

Caitlyn Hess

Caitlyn is a first grader at Montgomery Avenue Elementary school. She enjoys being a cheerleader for the West Pittston Rams and a gymnast at Shooting Starz Gym. Caitlyn is also a Daisy Scout and loves taking art classes at the Pittston YMCA. When Caitlyn does have downtime she loves helping take care of her three dogs.

Peyton Rusyn

Peyton is 7 years and is a student in the Pittston Area School District. She is a dancer at David Blight School of Dance in Pittston, and is in a competitive dance group called The Chiclets.

Peyton plays softball, and is very helpful at home to her younger siblings. She loves to play school, and read to her little sister Lily. She is a very smart, kind and bright young girl with a bright future ahead of her.

Katherine Potter

Katherine is 7 years old and is from West Wyoming. She is a student at 10th Street Elementary and is the “Best Big Sister” to 5-year-old Julianne.

Katherine enjoys many extracurricular activites. Throughout the school year she takes dance lessons at David Blight School of Dance in Pittston. She also plays soccer with the Forty Fort Soccer Club, and plays baseball for the Wyoming/West Wyoming Little League. She recently performed a tap dance routine for her school talent show. Most of all, Katherine loves to be active and play with her sister and friends, and help others any way she can.

Selena Nova

Selena is 7 years old and attends Montgomery Avenue Elementary. She has two brothers and one sister.

Her favorite things to do are read, dance, swim and spend time with her family and friends.

Ameriana Walker

Ameriana is 6 years old and lives in West Pittston. She is currently a kindergarten student at Montgomery Avenue Elementary. She loves to go fishing with her daddy, and loves to sing and dance any chance she gets.

Ameriana loves to help other children who have nut allergies like her to help keep them safe and healthy. She loves going to Disney with her Nana and Ampa. She hopes to be a princess at Disney World one day when she gets bigger.

Mya Warman

Mya is 7 years old and lives in Harding. Currently, she attends school at the Sara J. Dymond Elementary. Mya is very friendly with a big heart.

She’s actively involved in the West Pittston Library. She enjoys fishing, dancing and playing with her pets.

Madeline Reynolds

Madeline is 7 years old and is a second grade student at Sara J. Dymond Elementary. She enjoys making people smile and loves to dance.

Madison Askew

Madison is in 3rd grade at JFK. She loves staying active and enjoys softball, singing, dance, and swimming. She also enjoys building Lego’s and has older sister, Megan.

Olivia Bassolino

Olivia is a second grade student at Montgomery Avenue and lives in West Pittston. Olivia has gone to the West Pittston Cherry Blossum Festival her entire life and always dreamed of being on stage. Here’s her chance! Her talent is singing.
